Viacheslav Zigmundovich Grines, Prof. of Fundamental Mathematics Department in National Research University Higher School of Economics, Nizhny Novgorod, for 47 years now has been actively engaged in academic and educational activities, scientific seminars, lecturing on different disciplines related to theory of dynamical systems and history of mathematics.
Academic achievements of V. Grines, his colleagues and disciples share approach based on subsequent application of topological methods in dynamics which allowed to obtain a number of fundamental results on topological classification of important classes of dynamical systems.
V. Grines was scientific advisor to 6 PhD theses and advisory assistant to DSc theses of O.V. Pochinka on topological classification of Morse-Smale diffeomorphisms on 3-manifolds.
Recently a monograph of V.Z. Grines, T.V. Medvedev and O.V. Pochinka "Dynamical Systems on 2- and 3-Manifolds" was published with Springer Publishers. V. Grines is a member of Thesis Boards at Nizhny Novgorod and Vladimir State Universities and a member of Advisory Board of Russian Foundation for Basic Researches.
